Fresh out of India Post is a set of two stamps and a miniature sheet on Tadoba Andhari National Park. Released on the occasion of this International Tigers’ Day, this special issue features beautiful pictures of tigers.Tadoba – Andhari Tiger Reserve is the oldest national park in the state of Maharashtra and is located in Chandrapur District. Declared a Project Tiger Reserve in 1993, Tadoba is bursting with life and animals.
Also called of ‘The Jewel of Vidharba’, the sanctuary offers scenic landscapes with breathtaking views and interesting wildlife sightings. Not just tigers, Tadoba also gives shelter to many different species such as leopards, bears, wild dogs, blue bull and many more.
The stamps are based on photographs taken by Amol Bais. His iconic photographs ended up being used on a postal stamp. The stamp of Rs. 25 features Maya – the tigress getting a hug from her cub.
